The Chain Slack Detector Modernization Kit is designed to prevent machine down time and damage due to jams or drive chain failure.

The Chain Slack Detector constantly monitors the tension in the return path of the carrier chain from the main drive sprocket at the discharge end to the first drive gear at the load end of the cleaner. If the carrier chain experiences an increase or decrease in slack beyond a preset tolerance, the Chain Slack Detector will signal the washer to turn off, thus preventing damage.

Installation of the Chain Slack Detector reduces down time exposure and protects against extensive machine damage. We recommend that you install this kit during your next overhaul or weekend shut down. The services of a Barry-Wehmiller Factory Trained Field Service Technician is recommended to supervise the installation.
